Fan Stamps Instant Face Paint Review and Giveaway

I've blogged several times about how much I love painting children's faces. I do it for my kids' birthday parties and I've painted faces at fundraisers and charity parties. Here's a photo of some of the designs I've done:

Kids really love it. My talent level is strictly amateur, but the kids don't care, and there's always a long line of kids when I face paint at parties. Inevitably a group of kids go home disappointed because I didn't have enough time to get to them -- which is something I really hate, especially when I do charity parties for kids who don't get this kind of treat too often. Nice, fancy designs just take time! Fortunately there's a product called Fan Stamp that makes press-on face paint, which eliminates all the mess and hassle of face painting. Here's what I thought of the sample pack of Fan Stamps they sent me:

The Basics
Fan Stamps are press-on face paint designs that work like temporary tattoos -- you peel the clear backing from the design, place them against your cheek and rub -- but you don't need water. They are made with real, high-end makeup and come in many fun designs like this butterfly and flower design:

They also have a whole new line of Disney designs:

Fan Stamps are available at retailers around the country (email info@myfanstamp.com for a complete listing) and at the Fan Stamp online store.

Here's how Fan Stamp describes their product:
With one easy application, magic unfolds and possibilities are realized with Fan Stamp, the patented press-on face and body paint that outlasts, and out-smiles, any other product out there. Promising that if you can dream it, Fan Stamp can do it! Children’s temporary tattoos and face painting has never been so easy. Fan Stamp products are available in a variety of exciting designs including Disney®. Fan Stamp press-on paint is better than a temp tattoo because no water is needed. Fan Stamp is made from high end makeup and wont drip like regular face paint.

For more information, go to Fan Stamp's FAQ page.

The Bongga
My kids love these Fan Stamp designs! They really look like they've been painted on by a professional face painter armed with the world's steadiest hand, or a really good stencil. I can't believe how quickly the design transferred to my kids' cheeks. You really only need to rub the design in a few times to get it to set, and it's not wet or messy like temporary tattoos.

The Pea's favorite design is this bold and sassy, black-and-white flower.

Check out the pretty pastel butterfly that her friend chose!

3Po and Jammy both went with a ferocious tiger! There's no way I could have painted a design like that -- okay, maybe if I took about 20 minutes I might be able to paint a not-so-great copy of it -- and yet it went on in seconds. And since each design can be used two or three times, I'm definitely taking some of these Fan Stamps with me to the next charity party I do. That way I don't have to rush and stress about getting every kid's facepaint done, and everyone still ends up with a beautiful facepaint design!

The Blah
As you can see from the photos, the designs can smudge -- particularly the areas with black paint (as you can see with the photos), so ask the child to sit very still, and make sure you don't move the pad while you're rubbing it.

The Bottom Line
Fan Stamp's easy gorgeous designs make them a sure-fire favorite with kids -- and the easy application process means you'll never have to hire a face painter for your kids' birthday parties again!
