Leapfrog My Own Story Time Pad review and giveway

Everyone knows that the new LeapPad Explorer is THE hot toy for the holidays. It's on everyone's Must-Have or Top 10 list, and everyone wants it. But it's for ages 4-9 years. What if you have a toddler?

Parents of 2 year olds don't need to feel envious. There's a Leapfrog product that's perfect for their child: the My Own Story Time Pad, which is a simpler tablet for younger children. Leapfrog sent us a unit to review, and I can't wait to gift it to my little 2 year-old niece for the holidays! She can listen to music and stories on it, and she can tap the alphabet keys to listen to the sound each letter makes and words that start with the letter. Her parents can even go online to personalize it with her name, so that when she starts it up, she hears her name. They can also create custom playlists with her favorite songs and stories.

The My Own Story Time Pad has a small, black-and-white screen, where toddlers can see simple graphics of Scout the dog and his friends scurrying across the page. The buttons are easy for toddlers to tap, and the tablet is nice and sturdy. In the same way that parents are happy that kids can play and learn on a LeapPad instead of on their iPads or tablets, older brothers and sister are going to be so happy that their baby sister or brother has their very own tablet!
