Remember the Best School Music Mash-Ups contest I blogged about in January? Many entered, but few have been chosen, and now they need your votes! The second annual Fruitables Search for The Best School Music Mash-Ups in America has reached its final round, and we have six finalists.
Here's more information on the contest:
The entries are in; the finalists have been chosen; and now it’s time for America to vote for the winners. Glee’s Cory Monteith, and judges from VH1’s Save The Music Campaign and AOL’s PopEater have chosen six talented student vocal groups from across the nation, as finalists in the second annual Fruitables Search for The Best School Music Mash-Ups in America.
This year’s finalists from California, New York, Michigan, Kansas, Massachusetts and Texas are all possible winners of the $10k but they need your help! Now it’s America’s turn to weigh-in and decide which two vocal groups – one elementary school and one middle school – are most deserving of the title and $10k prize. Starting now, Americans can view the six finalists’ performances and cast their vote at www.Facebook.com/AppleandEve. The winning schools will be announced during National Music Week, the week of May 2, 2011.
I've watched the videos of all six finalists, and I have to say it's difficult to choose a winner! I think the Pearl Rucker Elementary School choir is absolutely adorable, and I must say I have a soft spot for Crittenden Middle School because they're from California, but I really love Traverse City West's garbage can drum introduction! Who do you think should win? Make your voice heard and vote!
