Giveaway: Fight motion sickness (drug free!) with Sea-Band and Anti-Nausea Ginger Gum

sailing golden gate america's cup

Summer is almost over but there's still time for that one last trip!  They say travel is mind broadening: not only does it teach you things about other countries and people, it teaches you things about yourself.  And if there's one thing I've learned about myself on my travels, it's that motion sickness can strike pretty much anywhere.

You can feel motion sickness on a small boat...

 ... on a big boat...

... in a car...

... on a plane...

... on a train...

... on a car in a train...

.... a car on a boat...

... or maybe even a roller coaster!

Some people get it, some people don't, and it affects people differently, at different times -- but it can certainly get the whole family in a "sticky" situation if you don't prepare for it!  That's why a motion sickness remedy is always part of my travel packing list.

In fact, 53 million American suffer from motion sickness (car sickness, air sickness, or sea sickness), according to Sea-Bands, makers of drug-free motion sickness remedies like Sea-Band wristbands and Sea-Band Anti-Nausea Ginger Gum.  My sister swears by these wristbands -- her daughter is so prone to motion sickness, she gets nauseous practically every time she enters a car.  I like the idea of a drug-free solution because there's no drowsiness or other side effects. Sea-Band sent us a couple of pairs, check them out:

They are comfortable cloth bands that stretch over your wrists and apply pressure on the inner wrists to help relieve nausea. They come in adult sizes and kid sizes so everyone gets the right amount of pressure.

They even have little travel cases to keep the bands in so they don't get lost!  I keep these in our van at all times. I also have another pair that stays permanently in my airplane hand luggage.  That way, we're covered pretty much wherever we travel.

More about Sea Band's products:
Parent or not, don’t let nausea from the journey or side effects from anti-nausea medication ruin your time at the destination. Keep Sea-Bands in your glove compartment or travel bag and you’ll be ready to combat motion sickness within 5 minutes. Approved by the FDA, Sea-Band acupressure wristbands are the leading natural, drug-free remedy for motion sickness (car sickness, air sickness, or sea sickness). They work using the ancient Chinese art of acupressure, by applying continuous pressure to the inner wrists (P6 Neiguan pressure point) through a small plastic ball on the inside of each wristband. This stimulation causes the nervous system to release chemicals that help to trigger the body’s natural healing abilities, relieving nausea in minutes.

Sea-Band products are available in mass market retail, supermarkets and drug stores in the U.S and Canada:
· Sea-Band Drug Free Nausea Relief Bands: $11.99 (U.S), $12.99 (Canada)
· Sea-Band Anti-Nausea Ginger Gum: $6.99 (U.S.)
