Day 7 Twelve Days of Giveaways

This holiday dress is sexy, yet elegant, so it's perfect for party hopping -- from cocktail soiree to fancy sit-down dinner to wild late-night at the hottest club in town!  I love the draping and the blingy accent at the waist.

On New Year's Eve my family likes to enjoy some some silly Filipino-Chinese superstitions that are supposed to bring you good luck in the New Year.  As the clock strikes twelve, you're supposed to eat twelve grapes (so you'll always have plenty to eat), jingle a purse with twelve coins in it (so you'll have financial fortune) and jump up and down twelve times (I've forgotten what that's for, but it's so much fun -- just try jumping and jingling and eating at the same time!).  You're also supposed to wear lucky outfits, so lots of people wear polka dots (symbolizing coins, or money) or the color red (the Chinese good luck color).  This red cowl neck mini dress certainly fits the bill!

I actually own this Black billow top dress, and I love it.  It's very figure-forgiving, so it's not reserved exclusively for slim twenty-somethings.  The gathers distract from the worst of my lumps and bumps, and the lycra fabric sort of holds me in :)  It's not skintight all over, so I don't feel like I have to hold my breath and suck my tummy in all the time!   I wear it with black leggings and silver heels, and I always get lots of compliments on my outfit.
