I know, I know, it's Father's Day, and far be it for me to steal their thunder, but this is important. I very recently had a breast cancer scare -- two lumps on my breast that thankfully, turned out to be normal -- and my first reaction to the possibility that I might have the disease was, How is this going to affect my kids?. Moms with breast cancer are moms first, and their courage in the face of this disease is a thing of awe. That's why I wanted to spread the word that Bright Starts has begun their search for their 2011 Pink Power Moms.

Nominate an Inspirational Breast Cancer Survivor to be a 2011 Pink Power Mom
WHO: Bright Starts, the award-winning baby brand, has opened nominations for 2011 Pink Power Moms.
WHAT: Bright Starts is inviting family and friends to nominate a mother who has served as an inspiration throughout her battle with breast cancer. Pink Power Moms are role models to their families and communities due to their unbreakable spirit and perseverance in the face of breast cancer.
WHY: Eight women will be selected from the 2011 Pink Power Mom nominees to receive a $5,000 donation to the breast cancer charities of their choice, as well as special pampering gifts and a weekend in Atlanta , culminating in the Pink Power Mom fifth anniversary gala. One of the eight will be selected as the Pink Power Super Mom and will receive an additional donation to her chosen charity.

WHEN: Nominations are being accepted through July 31, 2011.
