National Donut Day is June 3
Tuesday, May 03, 2011
Start the countdown: National Doughnut Day is just one month away! Did you know that National Donut Day was started in 1938 as a fund raiser for the Chicago Salvation Army? Their goal was to help the needy during the Great Depression, and to honor the Salvation Army "Lassies" of World War I, who served doughnuts to soldiers.
Here's how donut maker Entenmann's will be honoring the Salvation Army and celebrating National Donut Day:
Help raise money for the Salvation Army
From May 2nd – June 3rd Entenmann's will donate $1 (up to $10,000) to the Salvation Army for every LIKE they receive on the Entenmann's Facebook page.
Win fun Donut Day prizes
Entenmann’s will be hosting their first-ever Donut Day Sweepstakes. Check out the Entenmann's Facebook page where they will be giving away 10 iPads as well as many other daily prizes.
Stay tuned... Entenmann's will be sending me some Donut Day goodies which I'll be sharing with you via a fun Donut Day giveaway!
