Last week I had the opportunity to attend the grand opening of Cars Land at the Disneyland Resort. If you haven't heard yet, the area beside A Bug's Land at Disney's California Adventure has been transformed into Radiator Springs, and park guests can enter the Cars world, walk down Route 66, take a ride on Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, race around Ornament Valley on the Radiator Springs Racers, float on air at Luigi's Flying Tires, or grab a bite at Flo's V8 Cafe.
Cars Land has been in the works for five whole years, and it's every bit as amazing as I thought it would be when Disney announced the reopening on March 7, so it's only fitting that a project this immense merited a grand celebration. It was as grand as grand can be! The festivities began on June 13 with a Red Carpet event featuring Disney stars, Disney execs, lots of cameras and lots of fans. Since I had a media pass, I was able to snag a spot right behind the railings, and snapped some great photos of the stars as they walked the Red Carpet:

Disclosure: The Disneyland Resort provided media privileges, park admission for my family and accomodations for the duration of the event. Other costs, including transportation, meals and extra days at the Disneyland Resort, were incurred at my expense. The views and opinions expressed here are my own.
