Holiday Cheer Starts Here at Sam's Club

The holidays are here, and if you find yourself long on stress and short on inspiration, check out Sam's Club's online catalog, with lots of great ideas for entertaining and spreading holiday cheer.  They have also partnered with Brooke Peterson—a DIY and lifestyle expert—to give people fun and creative holiday advice throughout the season. Her blog has lots of tips for creating beautiful holiday displays; check out this great post on how to use traditional holiday decorations in unexpected ways:

This year I took my cue from Brooke and Sam's Club and decided to give an old holiday decor standby a fresh twist.  Every year I display the holiday cards we receive from family and friends by stringing them up over doorways and windows.  This year I decided to make a hanger for our holiday cards.

I bought some holiday ribbon from Sam's Club and made a holiday card hanger with a simple wooden dowel.  I hung the ribbon in strips, and I'll be attaching our holiday cards to the ribbon using little wooden clothespins that I painted red:

You can change the colors of the rod and ribbons to fit your home's color scheme.  You can also vary the length of the ribbon depending on where you plan to hang it.  It's a fun new way to use ribbons and showcase your holiday cards!
