This Sunday, November 12, we will be celebrating Veteran's Day -- and what better way to celebrate it than by sending a note of appreciation to our nation's troops. Every year my daughter's Girl Scout Troop makes thank-you holiday cards to send to troops overseas, which I think is a beautiful gesture.
Now Shutterfly is making it easy for everyone to do the same. Their current initiative, Thank the Troops, lets you send a thank you card to every American Hero. Just go to their Facebook app, select a card (you can choose from 4 different designs), personalize the inside with photos and text, and send it. Shutterfly will print and ship your card to the troops at no cost to you. They have a gallery of cards that people have created; here are two of my favorites:
So far, almost 10,000 cards have been created, but that's a long way from the 1.5 million troops that serve the US. Create a free Shutterfly card today, and tell your friends to do the same, so we can thank each and every one of them!
Disclosure: Shutterfly is sending me a gift card as compensation for this post. The views and opinions expressed here are my own.
