Free health screenings at Sam's Club
Over the course of a lifetime, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, making it one of the leading causes of cancer deaths among women.
In support of Women’s Health Month, Sam’s Club will host free women’s health screenings on Saturday, October 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at all locations with a pharmacy to Club members and non members. During the screenings, Sam’s Club will give away more than 25,000 breast self-exam kits to help women better detect changes in breast tissue, such as a lump, that might require a follow-up exam by a physician.
The screening program will provide free in-Club tests for both women and men, including:
Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) screenings to test for potential women’s health issues related to thyroid functionality
Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screenings to test for signs of prostate cancer in men
· Blood pressure
· Body mass index (BMI)
Total cholesterol
High-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol
Glucose
Vision testing/screenings
Nearly 17,000 women were screened during last year’s women’s health screenings. Since then, Sam’s Club has provided a total of more than a million free health and vision screenings to the communities we serve.
