We've got two long weeks of winter break ahead of us, and I'm already planning on ways to fill my kids' time. I'm excited to be taking them to visit the Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM) for the very first time! California's 529 savings program, ScholarShare (which by the way is the 529 savings program we use!), will be sponsoring a section in the museum (in addition to sponsoring free admission to the museum every first Wednesday of the month), and to celebrate, they sent me a family pack of tickets so we could check the place out!
I've always wanted to go to BADM but just haven't had the opportunity to go. I know it's a Bay Area favorite, and I've certainly mentioned the place often enough in my writings for The Savvy Source. I love the fact that they have so many cultural celebrations throughout the year, such as Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Chinese New Year, Cinco de Mayo and the upcoming Kwanzaa celebrations (one of the few places I know of that do celebrate it).
Speaking of Kwanzaa, that's not the only special event that BADM is hosting over the holidays. They've got tons of great stuff to do:
Daily, Dec. 17-23: 14th Annual Gingerbread Architecture Fundraiser
Saturday, December 17: Dream Circle Holiday Concert
Monday, December 26: Kwanzaa Celebration
Saturday, December 31: Noon Year’s Eve Party.
Even if you don't visit the museum on those days, there's plenty to do. We're excited for our upcoming visit!
