Remember those cartoons and shows you grew up with? Just because we're grownups doesn't mean we can't wear our passions on our sleeves -- and with Nerdy Shirts, we can. Their designs feature characters and movies that have stood the test of time, like Star Wars, Spiderman, the Green Lantern, Batman, Captain America and other Marvel and DC comic characters. They also have characters that hold a special place in our hearts, like Star Trek, Happy Days and Cheers, as well as the latest and greatest characters like Angry Birds.
Nerdy Shirts sent me their Star Wars My Squadron tee so I could take a closer look at their shirts. My boys watched the original Star Wars series (episodes IV, V and VI) this summer, so they were really envious of my shirt.
I couldn't be happier (with the shirt, not the envy). This is not some cheap tee with a garish design that looks like it has been ironed on. The material is really nice and soft, and it doesn't feel like it's going to pill with age.
The shirt tag has the Star Wars logo embroidered on it, not Hanes or Fruit of the Loom or some Chinese manufacturer's name. The design has a lovely vintage look to it, not too cartoony or garish.
This is how the shirt looks on an adult male:
This is how the shirt looks on me:
Note: I'm 5'8" and normally wear a size 10/12, and I'm wearing the Adult Small size (it's a unisex fit).
There's certainly nothing nerdy about this Nerdy Shirt! In fact, the only thing that isn't cool about Nerdy Shirts is the lack of designs in child sizes. They carry sooo many designs that big kids and little kids love -- -- but there are only 3 designs available in kids' sizes, and they're not really designs that kids love. One of the kids' designs features Mii characters (the avatars used in the Nintendo Wii), which is cool, but they're Mii Beatle characters -- Let it Bii, get it? Cute, but more for the parents than the kids.
