Mercer Mayer's Professor Wormbog in Search for the Zipperump-a-Zoo review and giveaway

If your child is afraid of monsters, there's no better book to help him get over his fears than a Little Monster book. Author Mercer Mayer (he's best known for his Little Critter series) has won the hearts of kids and parents everywhere with his series of books that turn scary monsters into fast friends. The monsters in his books face everyday situations that little kids can relate to, like his first day at school, or traveling around the neighborhood. All his monsters may have sharp teeth, but they also have gentle smiles and friendly eyes.

Little Monster books are getting hard to find, but fortunately Fast Pencil has recently re-released Mayer's 1976 classic, "Professor Wormbog in Search for the Zipperump-a-Zoo", the book that first introduced some of the beloved Little Monster characters, so that new generations of children can enjoy Little Monster.

About the book
Professor Wormbog has collected a Kerploppus, an Ickky, a Murgatroy, and a Useless. He has every beastie from A to Y, but he doesn't have a Zipperump-a-Zoo. He looks underground, in the sea, and in the air, and discovers how hard it is to find one--unless the Zipperump-a-Zoo wants to find you!

Mercer Mayer creates a world of silly creatures filled with humor for adults and children alike.
Mercer's known for his "Little Monster" and "Little Critters" series -- the books with the cute characters who go through situations that every child experiences. "Professor Wormbog," which is the book that led to Mercer's success with his "Little Monster" series, tells the tale of how hard it is to find a Zipperump-a-Zoo. This re-released collectible version of the book, which is available through Fastpencil at http://bit.ly/nyGbjF, is the first of many books to come from Mercer and FastPencil PREMIERE, who will be publishing this line of "Classic Collectibles."

This is a beautifully illustrated book, full of Mayer's whimsical monsters from A thru Z. Actually, A thru Y would be more accurate, because the book is all about Professor Wormbog's search for that last, elusive Zipperump-a-Zoo to complete his collection. The words are short and simple, but you can spend ages on each page, looking through all the monsters and admiring all the details. My kids and I had a great time reading this book during one of our bedtime story sessions and examining the illustrations closely afterwards. It really brings a smile on their faces. This is a must-read for any child!
