Celebrate Very Hungry Caterpillar Day (and enter to win a copy of the book!)

Eric Carle is one of my favorite children's authors. His beautiful illustrations and sweet, gentle stories will forever bring back warm happy feelings and treasured memories of snuggling with my sweet babies as we read The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Mixed Up Chameleon, The Very Lonely Firefly, A House for Hermit Crab and many more. Even at the advanced ages of seven and nine, my kids still enjoy Eric Carle's stories, and they are a favorite "go-to" book when we're running way past their bedtime and we want something lightning-fast to read. I think it's more the memories and the togetherness, rather than the actual story, that they enjoy when we read Eric Carle books at this point!

This Sunday, on March 20, we're joining families everywhere to celebrate Eric Carle and his most beloved story, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, for the 3rd annual Very Hungry Caterpillar Day! On this day, schools, libraries and bookstores will be hosting events and activities to mark this special occasion, including everybody's favorite children's store, Pottery Barn Kids., who will be hosting a special Very Hungry Caterpillar Storytime in their stores on March 20:


This year, the Very Hungry Caterpillar will be partnering with Pottery Barn Kids for some very special mommy and me time. On Sunday, March 20 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., all Pottery Barn Kids stores will be hosting a series of free activities for families, which will include story time and a reading of the Very Hungry Caterpillar and his adventures into becoming a butterfly.


Check your local Pottery Barn store for dates and times (some stores will host an additional Very Hungry Caterpillar story time on Tuesday, March 22).
