Night Owl Paper Goods review and giveaway

Father's Day is just around the corner! Have you thought about how you're going to make it a special day for the Dad in your life? I know what I'll be handing over to Alfie when we wake up on Father's Day -- a gorgeous handcrafted wooden Father's Day card from Night Owl Paper Goods. They sent me the card, along with an assortment of other paper goodies, so I could see for myself how unique and stylish they are. Read below for more of my thoughts (and a chance to win some NOPG goodies of your own!)

The Basics
Night Owl Paper Goods is a stationery company specializing in handmade letterpress cards and eco-chic wooden goods. Designers Allan and Jennifer illustrate their entire line of greeting cards, journals, jotters and totes. They also do custom wooden wedding stationery and custom artwork wooden cards. Their designs are on sale in fine stationery stores nationwide, on their online store, and on one of my favorite online stationery sites, Tiny Prints.


The Bongga
I'm not surprised Night Owl Paper Goods is a featured company on Tiny Prints, because their designs have a cuteness factor that's off the charts. Actually, "cute" isn't quite the right word. How about a combination of "whimsical", "artistic", "unique" and "high quality"? Does that spell "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"? Their style is simple, clean, eco-chic and modern, yet their designs all reflect nature and seem almost like handcrafted country items.

Check out the Fotters Day card that they sent me. It's so unique because it's actually made of a very thin piece of wood! I expected the card to snap and splinter as soon as I picked it up, but it's actually quite flexible along the grain of the wood. They also have journals and sketch pads with wooden covers, and they are really beautiful.



Also, their cards and notepads have the most delightful puns ever! How can you resist a card with a cute little beaver saying, "I wood like to say thanks", or a card with a bunch of flowers and the message "Thanks a bunch"? And see if you can guess which animal is illustrated with the following messages:

Hoot, hoot, hooray, it's your birthday
I'm so toadly thanking you
Thought i otter wish you happy birthday
Howdy y'owl
Hoppy birthday
Happy f'otters day

I love their puns so much I've come up with a pun (albeit lame) of my own -- These products are Owl So Cute!!


The Blah
Honestly, I'm trying hard but I can't seem to find anything I don't like about these products. Maybe once my kid gets a splinter from one of their wooden cards I'll change my mind, but their wood products are smooth as silk. I can't even complain about the prices, which are premium but reasonable, because they have a great sale section and $5 shipping in the US!


The Bottom Line
When you send someone a Night Owl Paper Goods product (or own one yourself), you're making a clear statement -- you're chic, you're eco-aware, you're discerning, and you're one-of-a-kind .
